Coloured LED tape lights are a great option for mood lighting - they come in a wide variety and can be used in many lighting projects of varying nature. LucasLED can provide you with amber, blue, green, red, and violet strip lights. They run on DC and are available in 12 or 24 V variations. Our strips come in 3 varieties when it comes to diode density - 60 LEDs/m, 120 LEDs/m, and spotless (a continuous line of diodes along the whole length). You should also keep in mind that coloured LEDs are rather dim (30 to 280 Lumens per metre, depending on the model and colour), so they aren’t a good pick for the main source of light. All the LED strips presented here have the IP rating of 20, which means they are meant for indoor use only and shouldn’t be exposed to moisture. If you intend to use them e.g. in the bathroom, they must be put into protective/waterproof aluminium profiles. Besides providing protection, the profiles will also make the light directional, which opens new possibilities for lighting design.

Another important characteristic of LED strip lights is their adhesive back. It can stick to many types of surfaces, if only they are sufficiently smooth and aren’t made from loose/grainy material. The glue used there is rather strong - when a LED tape is kept in the right conditions, it can hold for at least a few years. If you want a more permanent, yet easily removable, fixture, consider putting your LED strips into aforementioned, dedicated profiles.
