All you need to know about MiBoxer
Company introduction
MiBoxer is a Chinese company specialised in smart systems and their development. They are also a recognized manufacturer of LED lighting products. MiBoxer was founded in 2013 and has been earning a reputation in the LED smart lighting field for their innovative and high-quality products.
MiBoxer is well known for their many types of smart devices but in this blog we are only going to focus on the most known devices and the ones that we consider very important.
- LED Strips controller: these devices are used to control the colour of LED strips lights (if they are colour changeable) or to turn on and off them. If you want a LED strip controller to control your LED strip lights you will have to choose between 12V and 24V LED strip controllers. The 12V controller can easily supply up to 144W of LED strip and 24V can supply up to 288W LED strip. In case that your LED strip exceeds those values, you will need an amplifier. The range of the LED strip controllers is 20m.
- Gateway router: we can use this device to control other smart devices like bulbs or LED strip lights. In case you want to control some devices at the same time, turn off or on or change the light colour you can access to the gateway through an APP and directly control many devices at the same time only adjusting the gateway router.
- Remote controls: this is a multifunctional device developed to control the smart devices. The quality of being multifunctional makes it possible to work with many controllers at once – they control up to 8 zones (each zone requires one separate controller). The control distance is 30 m, which in practice means that the remote control can be at an entirely different location than your LED tapes. When considering its transmission frequency it usually equals 2400 MHz or 2400-2483 MHz.Our advanced remote controls can also communicate by radio signal 2.4Ghz. They work with Wi-Fi Milight routers that are operated via smartphones or applications.
- Wheel wall remote: Transmission frequency usually equals 2400 MHz or 2400-2483 MHz and transmitting power is 6dBm. The most outstanding quality is the Smart Lighting System. The upper button ON turns on the lighting and the lower button (OFF) turns off the lighting. You can also easily change the brightness, colour and colour temperature and adjust them to your current needs so that you can enjoy the desired effects. After long holding the OFF button, the night mode is activated automatically and the lighting works at the minimum brightness.
- Touch panels switches: The input voltage is 3V (2 * AAA) or 180 – 240V AC. Transmission frequency is usually 2400 MHz or 2400-2483 MHz and transmitting power is 6dBm. The control distance remains the same in all our products and it equals 30 m.
- App controls: these devices are the same as Gateway router and LED strips controller but these devices have WiFi and will work with the APP while not all the LED strips controllers can do.
- Other devices lesser known: here we can find devices like motion sensors, dimmers and amplifiers.
How it works
MiBoxer products work with various well-known technologies, like ZigBee 3.0, Dali, LoRa 433MHz, WiFi, DMX512 and 2.4GHz Radio Frequency.
MiBoxer products can also be integrated with third party voice control like Amazon Alexa and Google Assistant.
- 2.4GHz Gateway
This Gateway allows you to control your MiBoxer 2.4 RF products by MiBoxer APP through WiFi or 4G network.
- 433MHz Gateway
This Gateway allows you to control your MiBoxer 433MHz products by MiBoxer APP through WiFi or 4G network. It’s equipped with One Button Learning pairing function, that’s a time-saving capacity.

Apps to control the lights
MiBoxer App
With this app you can control MiBoxer WiFi series products. You can control light colour, brightness, saturation and colour temperature. This app has less functions and is not that good like the MiBoxer Smart App.
MiBoxer Smart App
This app has an optimised UI and improved performance compared to MiBoxer App.
Furthermore, with this app you can use smart functions like automatic turn on/off lights based on temperature, location, time, and in general you’ll have smarter control on MiBoxer products.
We recommend you to use this app instead of MiBoxer App.
