Wall Mounted light and Outdoor lighting guide

Outdoor lighting is an important factor for your house’s security, and there are different factors to consider at the time to choose outdoor lighting, such as wall mounted, wattage, motion sensors, photocells… These factors are key to have security, efficiency and good lighting for outdoor lighting and different dark vs light packs.

Wattage

Wattage is important depending on the zone you want to light, you’ll need a higher wattage if the area is considerable or maybe  a lower wattage for a compact area.

Motion Sensors

Motion sensors are one of the most common lighting options for outdoor lighting. Motion sensors help to reduce energy consumption and ensure that lights are activated only when someone is near them.

PhotoCell

Photocell lights are another option for motion sensors. Photocell lights will only turn on when you really need them because, unlike motion sensors, they can only activate at night when it is dark and will turn off if they detect any light. Photocell lights are really simple and quick to install, and they save energy just like motion sensors.

Rated for Dampness

There are fixtures prepared to be in contact with water or dampness (IP Rated); for these environments or climatological conditions, damp-rated fixtures are the best choice. Even if you aren't sure if it will be in contact with liquid, having a damp-rated fixture is always a great choice to ensure the light is functioning properly.
